Jump into Summer (and a Foam Pit) with the North Liberty Library this Wednesday, May 22

Jump start summer and register for the summer reading program on the Ranshaw House lawn.

The event is part of the City Slate, more than 40 free events produced each year by the City of North Liberty. 
 

The five Ws

  • Who: You! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • What: A foam party, treats, giveaways and more to kick off the North Liberty Library's Summer Reading Program.
  • Where: Ranshaw House lawn, 515 Community Drive.
  • When: Wednesday, May 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Why: To get excited for summer and register for the Summer Reading Program!
 

Programming

  • Join us for a foam party and inflatables for all ages — please bring a towel and come prepared to get wet!
  • Enjoy a sweet treat from Kona Ice.
  • Register for the library’s Summer Reading Program. This summer’s theme is Read. Return. Repeat.
  • Hills Bank, MidWestOne, and Urban Acres will also be onsite with activities.
  • Bring your bike to participate in the Bike Rodeo.
 

How to 🚗 🚴 or 🚶🏽 to the event

  • The Ranshaw House is located to the north of the Community Center at 515 Community Drive.
  • Parking is available in the Community Center parking lot.
  • May is Bike Month, so skip the car and bike (or walk) to the event!

  • Restrooms will be available in the Community Center.
  • Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash and you clean up after them.
  • The use of tobacco, nicotine, vape and other electronic smoking devices are prohibited in North Liberty parks, trails and public recreation areas.
  • This event is outside.

Fridays in June & July: Ranshaw House Concert Series: Catch up with friends and socialize as a community Friday nights in July on the Ranshaw House lawn. Bring a picnic and enjoy live performances from local musicians on the historic house’s front porch.

June 8: Let Love Fly: Mega kites will soar above Centennial Park for a community celebration of love. Come for awe-inspiring views, and information, activities and giveaways from LGBTQ community groups and sponsors.

June 9: Free Fishing with TAKO: Join neighbors for free fishing, food and prizes at Liberty Centre Pond. A fishing license is not required for this special event.
