CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department plans to open Bever Pool, 2700 Bever Ave SE, on Sunday, June 27. The pool will be open afternoons from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for lap swim and water walking, and from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. for open swim through August 6. Bever will not be open for lessons or evening swims at this time.
The Parks and Recreation Department is still recruiting staff to open Jones and Ellis Pools. The Department needs at least 140 lifeguards to operate all outdoor pools and currently has 119 hired or in the process of training to work by June 27.
