Person arrested for shooting gun during road rage incident

IOWA CITY -- On Monday, June 29, 2020, at approximately 7:22 p.m., Iowa City Police officers responded to the area of Goldfinch Circle and Heron Circle for a report of a gun being fired. Officers located those involved and learned that a road rage incident had just occurred on Scott Boulevard.  During that incident, one of the drivers, Joseph Reinholz, 54, brandished a pistol and fired a shot near the intersection of Scott Boulevard and Rochester Avenue.

No one was injured and no damage to property was located.

Reinholz was taken into custody on the following criminal charges:

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
