City Budget Information

Public hearing for proposed property tax levy

Tuesday, February 25 | 6:30 pm

The City Council meeting on February 25 at 6:30 pm at Coralville City Hall, 1512 7th Street, will include two steps in the budget process for the next fiscal year:

  • A presentation of the proposed budget
  • A public hearing for the proposed property tax levy

Join us in person, watch live on Mediacom 118-8 or online, catch a rebroadcast, or stream the video later. Look for budget information in the spring Connection in Coralville mailboxes next week.
 
The property tax levy hearing is a new step in the budget process added through state legislation, which aims to further notify the public about property tax changes. At the public hearing, any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of, the proposed tax levy. Property tax levy hearing notice

Survey available through February 21

Share your opinion about scenarios to improve our local transit systems, including possible route changes, as part of the Iowa City Area Transit Study.

Now Hiring Local Census Jobs

Pay is $21.00 per hour

Fridays | 10:00 am-2:00 pm

The Census Bureau is hiring for temporary jobs in Johnson County, including census takers and recruiting assistants. Stop by the library between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm each Friday in February to speak with Census Bureau hiring representatives, ask questions, and get help applying to be a census worker.
 
Pay rate is $21.00 per hour plus $0.58 per mile. Earn extra income while helping our community! Census jobs

Learn about the Coralville Community Gardens

Tuesday, February 18 | 5:30-6:30 pm

Join us at the Coralville Recreation Center to learn about updates happening at the Coralville Community Gardens. Guests from Johnson County Master Gardeners will join us to speak about tomatoes and beans. Open house

City schedule for Presidents' Day holiday

On Presidents' Day, City offices and the Library will be closed. Coralville Transit will run as usual, and the Recreation Center and Indoor Pool will be open. Holiday schedule
