Iowa City Police Investigating Burglary

On July 13, 2019 at approximately 4:12 a.m., the Iowa City Police Department responded to 108 South Linn Street for a female reporting she awoke to a male inside her residence speaking to her. The male suspect then left the residence carrying a plastic bag and the victim found he had stolen an undisclosed amount of money and/or property and disturbed items in the apartment.  The suspect entered the residence through a door that appears to have been inadvertently left unlocked.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5’10”, medium build, and in his early 20’s. He had shoulder-length dreadlocks and a dark blue tee-shirt.

The victim was shaken up, but not injured during this incident.

This case is being actively investigated by the Iowa City Police Department and citizens are reminded to lock their doors and windows.
