The annual Job & Resource Fair, hosted by the City of Iowa City in partnership with Iowa Works, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, in the gymnasium of the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert St.
There is no fee to attend, and there will be no charge to park at the recreation center during the event.
Nearly 40 businesses plan to attend this event, including those in health care, restaurant services, manufacturing, public safety and more. Each will host a table where they will promote their open positions. Job seekers are encouraged to dress professionally, bring copies of their resumes, and research the businesses prior to the Job Fair. Businesses will be seeking employees for full-time, part-time and seasonal positions. View a full list of participating businesses at icgov.org/jobfair2018.
Job seekers can also take advantage of a free resume-building workshop at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St. Participants will be guided through the resume creation and writing process with the help of a knowledgeable volunteer, and will learn tips from an ICPL librarian.
