Rexco Equipment, Inc. - Iowa City, Cedar Rapids

RexcoRexco Equipment, Inc. was founded in 1964 by Rex Smith Sr. and his wife Mildred. Yes, that was 50 years ago as of 2014! They started with 26 counties in eastern Iowa selling and servicing the Link-Belt crane account, whom Rex had worked for in various positions for 23 years, (Including 6 years as national sales manager), before deciding to open his own dealership.

The Smiths built the company into one of the most respected Link-Belt dealerships in the nation. Their sons, Rex and Steve grew up in the business and played a large part in the growth of Rexco Equipment. Their commitment to excellence in customer service resulted in great relationships with the manufactures and loyal customers.

Rexco then expanded their territory and added new facilities in Des Moines (1976) and Davenport (1989). In 1985, Rexco branched out into the compact equipment sector with lines that included Bobcat, Kubota, and ExMark. The company currently operates 3 Bobcat dealerships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and the Quad Cities.
