PSA encourages kids to steal parents' guns, hand over to teachers - Washington Times

CORALVILLE COURIER EDITOR'S NOTE: Wait a minute..... What about the zero tolerance policy for guns, shouldn't the student get expelled?

A startling new anti-gun ad released by a San Francisco-based production company encourages children to commit a series of crimes by stealing their parents’ guns and turning them over to school officials, The Daily Caller reported Monday.

Sleeper 13 Productions released the controversial video on Dec. 13. It shows a pouty, young boy wandering into his parents’ bedroom, stealing a handgun out of their dresser drawer and then shoving it into his backpack.

Gov. Deval Patrick on Ferguson: 'Of Course I Wanted to See an Indictment' - NBC News.com

CORALVILLE COURIER EDITOR'S NOTE: Not the stuff of a real leader.

Outgoing Gov. Deval Patrick, D-Mass., told NBC's Chuck Todd that without seeing all the facts "of course I wanted to see an indictment" from the grand fury reviewing the shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson.

Patrick explained Sunday on Meet the Press that he wanted an indictment, "mostly because I think a trial and the transparency of a trial would be good for the community."

He continued, "Because so many of us have the supposition that police officers are not going to be held accountable and are not going to have to answer for the shooting of unarmed young black teenagers."

Johnson County Supervisor Rod Sullivan is OK with Obama skirting the Constitution and abusing presidential authority

In the latest from his blog, Sullivan's Salvos, Johnson County Supervisor Rod Sullivan publicly wishes Barack Obama would have abused the Oval Office more than he already has when it comes to immigration.  And check out the twisted *reasoning* behind the support for abuse......  Sullivan never fails to check logic and reality at the door when he comes up with his little liberal-minded analogies.  It's why Sullivan has such a hard time getting along with other people, even Democrats.  His notions aren't based in common sense, it's all about the emotion for him.

  Immigration

I support President Obama’s Executive Order on immigration. As a matter of fact, I wish he had gone further.

The bottom line for me is very simple: people should have more rights than corporations. Labor deserves greater rights than capital.

If a Mexican company wanted to move to the US, it would be welcomed with open arms. US and international courts would fight to ensure the move took place. It has NAFTA to protect it. The media would consider it a boon and good for the economy.

Now replace the Mexican company with an actual Mexican human being. If she wants to move to the US, she has to jump through decades worth of hoops. US and international courts would fight to ensure the move did NOT take place. She has no NAFTA to protect her. The media would consider her a threat and a criminal.

We have open borders for corporations, closed borders for people. We must rethink this arrangement.

Third Obamacare architect video emerges - CNN.com

Washington (CNN) -- A third video emerged Wednesday of MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, insulting voters and suggesting their ignorance was exploited by those pushing passage of the health care law.

Neither the White House nor Gruber would comment.

In this one, Gruber was discussing how then-Sen. John Kerry, D-Massachusetts, pushed forward a way to add a tax on expensive health insurance plans, or "Cadillac Plans," that would purportedly tax the insurance companies though Gruber suggests everyone knew the companies would just pass on the additional cost to customers.

"It's a very clever, you know, basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter," Gruber said at the Honors Colloquium 2012 at the University of Rhode Island.

The moment is at about 29:25 in this video. The video was first reported by The Daily Caller.

Obamacare architect 'stupidity of the America voter' crucial for law's passage - Houston Politics | Examiner.com

Remember when President Obama promised everyone that under Obamacare if you liked your doctor you could keep your doctor, and that premiums would go down by $2,500 a year? MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the chief architects of the Affordable Care Act, has been caught on camera admitting that this and many other claims made about health care reform were lies. The administration knew they were lies, according to a Sunday story in the Daily Signal. Gruber made the admission at an Oct 17, 2013 event, around the time that the Obamacare website was crashing and burning.

Gruber said, “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.” Gruber was just confirming what many analysts of Obamacare have concluded all along that the talking points made to sell it were lies. The video is the first case of someone intimately involved in the writing of the bill admitting to this point.

Obama Attacks Stay-at-Home Moms – “That’s Not a Choice we Want Americans to Make” - Eagle Rising

President Obama was campaigning in Rhode Island when he began dissembling on the choice some women have to make between raising a family and earning to their full potential in their careers. He probably shouldn’t have gone off on this little rabbit trail, because by doing so he unmasked the wholesale contempt the Democrat Party holds for the average American woman.

Sometimes, someone, usually mom, leaves the workplace to stay home with the kids, which then leaves her earning a lower wage for the rest of her life as a result. And that’s not a choice we want Americans to make.

Wastebook 2014: Sen. Coburn highlights questionable, wasteful government spending - CBS News

CORALVILLE COURIER EDITOR'S NOTE: Here's a story you probably won't see in the Iowa City DePressed Citizen. Why not? Because the liberal paper loves big government.

Washington is often accused of doing nothing, and the current Congress is on track to be one of the least productive in history.

However, as CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes reports, there is one area where Congress has stayed busy -- spending money.

One government program spent $190,000 to study compost digested by worms. Another $856,000 went to train mountain lions to walk on treadmills, $10,000 for an Oregon children's theater production of "Zombie in Love" and $46,000 for a snowmobile competition in Michigan. Also, $414,000 was spent to update an Army video game meant to spur recruitment, a project already more than $25 million over budget.

All this, plus rabbit massages at Ohio State University, butterfly farms on Oklahoma tribal lands and an Iron Man suit under development at the Department of Defense.

Subway Halloween Costume Ad Blasted as ‘Sexist’ Leaves Today Show Hosts Speechless

Both Matt Lauer and Carson Daly, the male foils to the female hosts on NBC’s TODAY show, got the humor in Subway’s new ad tailored for the holiday at the end of October.

But Time magazine instantly led the charge over the “sexist” commercial, which is posed as yet another volley in the War on Women that will surely set this nation back 50 years. Not quite.

The gentlemen got it right. The sandwich chain’s response to the criticism, according to TODAY:
