Ron Glass, Actor Known For His Role In 'Barney Miller,' Has Died At 71 : NPR

Ron Glass, the handsome, prolific character actor best known for his role as the gregarious, sometimes sardonic detective Ron Harris in the long-running cop comedy "Barney Miller," has died at age 71.

Glass died Friday of respiratory failure, his agent, Jeffrey Leavett, told The Associated Press on Saturday.

"Ron was a private, gentle and caring man," said Leavett, a longtime friend of the actor. "He was an absolute delight to watch on screen. Words cannot adequately express my sorrow. "

Although best known for "Barney Miller," Glass appeared in dozens of other shows in a television and film career dating to the early 1970s.

He portrayed Derrial Book, the spiritual shepherd with a cloudy past in the 2002 science-fiction series Firefly" and its 2005 film sequel "Serenity."

He was Felix Unger opposite Desmond Wilson's Oscar Madison in "The New Odd Couple," a 1980s reboot of the original Broadway show, film and television series that this time cast black actors in the lead roles of Unger's prissy neat freak forced to share an apartment with slovenly friend Madison.

Adele "couldn't give a f**king shit" about Brangelina breaking up

The popstar who nailed the shittiness of a break up in under five minutes officially couldn't care less about the biggest celebrity break-up of the decade – Brangelina.

Of course we mean Adele. And no, you're not going mad, she did dedicate her New York show to the former couple days ago.

Apparently that was all a joke though, and she's pretty annoyed about it being interpreted literally as she clarified to another New York crowd.Advertisement - Continue Reading Below

"I would like to say I think it's a bit sick you're reporting on an absolute joke," she said.

Pokemon Go community is furious after tracking app crackdown - CNET

Originally, Pokemon Go featured a system called "Nearby" that would show how close wild Pokemon were to the player. If a Pokemon had one or two "footprints" next to their icon, it would be closer than a Pokemon with three, which let some users track down Pokemon by playing "warmer/colder" until they ran across the creature.

I say "some users," because the feature -- like much of Pokemon Go -- was initially buggy as heck. It wouldn't work reliably for me or many other players.

In response, software developers in the Pokemon Go community decided to make their own Pokemon-finding apps, like Pokevision, using the very same data used by the game.
