IOWA CITY -- Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy live music, games, crafts and frozen treats at Party in the Park. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, July 12 at Mercer Park, 1317 Dover St., with entertainment by Something in Your Teeth. Participants are encouraged to ride their bikes to this event, and take part in the scheduled Bike Parade around the park. The Iowa City Public Library Bookmobile will be on hand, as well as representatives from various City departments who will share information about their areas of expertise. Party in the Park is a no-fee event and is open to the public.
Sponsored by the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department and the Neighborhood Outreach Division, Party in the Park gives residents a chance to enjoy their summer evenings outdoors with friends and family while exploring the City’s many beautiful natural spaces and neighborhoods. This program runs weekly on Thursdays in June, July, and August, and on Sundays in September. To view the full Party in the Park schedule, visit www.icgov.org/pr.
