NORTH LIBERTY – The Corridor Business Journal is proud to publish a 200-page hardcover collector’s book, “Corridor Rising,” which showcases the devastation and renaissance of the region following the 2008 Midwestern U.S. Floods.
One of the greatest natural disasters in the country’s history, the 2008 floods left thousands homeless and caused more than $6 billion in damage in Eastern Iowa. What made the flooding truly remarkable was the way communities came together to protect, clean and rebuild their neighborhoods. More than $1 billion was invested in state-of-the-art business, cultural, housing and campus facilities, resulting in population and economic growth.
The Corridor Business Journal produced thousands of articles chronicling the flood, its damage and recovery. “Corridor Rising” spotlights and preserves not only the progress and improvements since then, but also the strength shown by the people of the Corridor.
“This book is the best thing we’ve published in the last 14 years,” said CBJ Publisher John Lohman. “The Corridor Business Journal took on water just two weeks after moving into our former office in Coralville’s Iowa River Landing … we are just one story among many. We hope this book captures the incredible neighborhoods, community spaces and business projects borne out of the 2008 floods.”
“Corridor Rising” will be unveiled at the CBJ’s Commercial Real Estate Luncheon, June 13 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cedar Rapids. All attendees will receive one copy free with registration. For more information about the event, visit www.corridorbusiness.com/events.
