Iowa City Firefighters Respond to House Fire

Iowa City Firefighters responded to a house fire on Thursday, August 10, 2017.  

Fire crews were dispatched at 7:48 p.m. to 2025 Western Road where they found smoke coming from the roof eves.  All occupants had evacuated prior to fire department arrival. Firefighters located a fire in the kitchen of the single family ranch home.  The fire was extinguished within 16 minutes of arrival.  

The home sustained approximately $30,000 in damage. The cause remains under investigation. 

The Iowa City Police Department, Johnson County Ambulance Service and MidAmerican Energy assisted on scene.
