Chauncey Swan Ramp stairwell closed for construction

IOWA CITY, IA. -- Crews are currently making repairs to the Washington Street stairwell located inside the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp. The stairwell is currently unavailable, including the payment machines located inside.

The work should take a few weeks, with completion expected in early June. Staff will provide a more specific re-opening date when that information is available.

While the work is being done, customers can use a pay station that has been temporarily relocated on the south-side, outside the stairwell. Customers can also use the mobile payment app PassportParking.

Additional work in the Chauncey Swan ramp this summer includes work to the College Street stairwell, and some concrete and expansion joint work. Similar updates will also be made in the Dubuque Street and Capitol Street ramps. More details to come.
