City Circle Acting Company Announces Auditions for Fiddler on the Roof

City Circle Acting Company of Coralville will hold auditions for the Fiddler on the Roof on Friday, September 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church, 2121 S. Ridge Drive in Coralville. Callbacks will be held Sunday, October 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Auditioners should prepare 16 bars of a song that shows off their voice and their ability to tell a story. Bring sheet music. An accompanist will be provided. To schedule an audition, complete and submit the audition form at Once you submit the form the producer will contact you with your appointment time. Walk-ins are always welcome, but those with appointments will take priority.

Winner of nine Tony awards, this classic musical by Jerry Bock (music), Sheldon Harnick (lyrics) and Joseph Stein (book) tells the story of Tevye, a Jewish dairyman in Imperial Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, who struggles to hold on to his religious and cultural traditions despite pressure to change. Perhaps the most powerful pull is that of his independent-minded daughters, who wish to choose their husbands, instead of abiding by the tradition of the matchmaker. Funny, sweet, beautiful and heartbreaking, this is a show for everyone!

Fiddler on the Roof will be performed December 9-11 and 16-18 at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts.
